Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections at highest level: presidential administration official

"The government is holding normal preparations on the elections. The municipal elections will be democratic and transparent. The election will be held at the highest level in accordance with democratic norms and standards," Aslanov said.

Municipal elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for mid-December, 2009.

Aslanov said in a run-up to the municipal elections, the socio-political situation in Azerbaijan is stable.
