Azerbaijan, Turkey are the most influential countries in region: Azerbaijani MP

"There are some forces that are not interested in the fact that Azerbaijan 's relations with brotherly Turkey became even closer. These forces appeared neither yesterday nor today, they have existed since times immemorial," ruling New Azerbaijan Party official Web site quoted member of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Inter-Parliamentary Working Group Ganira Pashayeva as saying.
 
She said forces seeking to undermine relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have never ceased activity and are doing so at the moment.

“But the main point is that Azerbaijan and Turkey and their citizens must not  allow these forces to realize their interests,” she said. 

Turkey and Azerbaijan’s sharing the same position on projects and policy implemented in the region is of great significance, she said.

“By doing so we are becoming the most influential countries in the region. Of course, some forces are concerned about it. Because the region we live is very important, rich and is of strategic importance. Many are concerned with the fact that we have our say in the region. Being two fraternal states, we should strengthen our power and unity,” Pashayeva said.
