OSCE head welcomes amendments to Law on NGO by Azerbaijani parliament

“A strong civil society, free press and open political participation are key commitments that we share as the OSCE member states,” Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said. “In this regard, I welcome the positive decision of the Azerbaijani parliament passed in late June.”

She said does not aim to restrict, but to facilitate the activities of civil society. Bakoyannis expressed her confidence in the ability to deepen constructive cooperation between the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and Azerbaijan to achieve the subsequent reforms.
