If the mediators, who have been dealing with conflict in the strategic plan for already more than 15 years, have not yet reached the real results, then I think there is some ground for a skeptical attitude to the work of the Minsk Group, said Alexei Vlasov, General Director of the Center for the Study of socio-political processes in the former Soviet Union, Deputy Dean of Faculty of History at the Moscow State University.
But at the same time, he noted it looks like a philosophical parable: "a glass is either half empty or half full".
"Now simply the mediators have intensified there, and the initiative of Ankara can also be attributed here. There is already a firm intention at the international level to transfer the Karabakh conflict to the status of solution of issues, related to return of Azerbaijani lands. I think that this is still the first step, which can be regarded as a gesture of goodwill by all parties to the conflict", concluded Vlasov.
