Azadlyg bloc urges to review decision to discontinue functioning of foreign radio stations

Azadlyg political bloc has released a statement, sharply condemning the decision by the Azerbaijani National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) resulting in discontinuation of the air wave broadcasts by the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), the Voice of America (VOA) and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, represented in the bloc.

As is reported, this step is aimed to limit the freedom of speech in the country and establish a close society.

The Azadlyg bloc calls on all public forces of the country and world community to respond to the event, demands from the National Council to review its decision to discontinue functioning of foreign radio stations on the national FM frequencies of Azerbaijan.

It should be reminded that Azadlyg bloc comprises the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Liberal Party of Azerbaijan and Civil Development Party.
