Democratic Party of Azerbaijan urges to reject participation in Nabucco project

According to sources from the party, the session participants exchanged views regarding the sociopolitical situation in the country and the world.

The session participants also discussed the issue of the shutdown of foreign radio stations. The party considers that this fact restricts the opportunity of the citizens to get alternative information. Moreover, the shutdown of the radio stations violates the principle of the freedom of distribution and receipt of information.

The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan considers that to eliminate the existing problem it is necessary for the radio stations to conduct their activity in line with the legislation of Azerbaijan.

The Democratic Party also discussed the prospects of participation in the project of Nabucco gas pipeline. The session participants consider that due to the drop in prices energy sources Azerbaijan’s participation in such projects in inexpedient.

The party considers that Azerbaijan should use its reserves rationally for them to be left to the future generation.
