24 October 2008 [10:05] - TODAY.AZ
The trilateral meeting of the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on the Karabakh conflict, will not yield serious results", said Sergey Minasyan, chief of Department of Political Studies of the Caucasus Institute.
Minasyan noted that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs from France and the United states are discontented with such an initiative, for there have not been informed about the proposal, voiced in Yerevan.

"Despite it, the trilateral meeting will be held, talks will be conducted, but no serious decisions will be adopted by its result", considers Minasyan.

In turn, Stepan Grigoryan, head of the analytical center for globalization and regional cooperation, noted that this initiative is a result of rivalry between Russia and the United States for the influence in the region.

It should be reminded that Russian President Dmitri Medvedev had a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev about the resolution of the Karabakh problem and discussed the preparations for the planned meeting on the Karabakh conflict with participation of the Russian President.

During the recent meeting in Yerevan Medvedev suggested to hold such a meeting in Moscow with participation of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
