Vasili Istratov: "Results of presidential elections in Azerbaijan were expected and natural"

He noted that this time the CIS states were quite widely represented and a special institution of monitoring of elections started to function.

"The conclusions of the observers of the CIS parliamentary assembly mostly based on quite a serious material, collected by this institution. None of the bodies, which sent their representatives for observation of presidential elections in Azerbaijan, had such an institution", said he.

At the same time, the ambassador noted that while speaking to most observers who have wide experience in such cases, the latter noted the high level of organization of the elections.

"They do not know so good examples. They all said that elections were exemplary and all are planning to conduct exchange of experience on organization of elections. I will not say the countries, which were used for comparison, as all these comparisons were in Azerbaijan's favor", said Istratov.
