Armenian former defense minister: "I consider it immoral that anyone makes a decision about the return of lands to Azerbaijan instead of Karabakhis"

22 October 2008 [11:41] - TODAY.AZ
"It is possible to settle the internal political situation in Armenia only in case people get back what belongs to them, including independence, statehood and power", said former Armenian Defense Minister and chairman of the Erkrap volunteers union Manwell Grigoryan.

Commenting on the recent presidential elections in Armenia, Grigoryan said that if there are doubts about the results of presidential elections, the people's voice during the meetings should be heard, noting that each person must bear responsibility for all his deeds.

Asked whether he really joined the opposition movement, led by first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the former deputy Defense Minister of Armenia noted that "this is a national movement and does not belong to anyone", and said he supports people, "who are wise and know what to do".

Grigoryan assured that he dismissed from the position of the deputy defense minister of Armenia by his own will and if the internal political developments will not be like that, he would have resigned anyway. At the same time, he refuted information that it is connected with the internal political situation in the country.

Commenting on possible return of the liberated lands of Karabakh to Azerbaijan, the general said that "these lands belong to people, who live there, therefore, what can be discussed here?! I can not even think about it. I consider it immoral that anyone makes a decision about the return of lands to Azerbaijan instead of Karabakhis", said Grigoryan.
