20 October 2008 [16:33] - TODAY.AZ
The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan held its regular session today, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
According to the party, the session focused on the sociopolitical situation in the country, as well as the situation around Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

The party considers that the Karabakh conflict must be settled in the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. According to it a paradoxical result can be drawn from the statements of the US representatives as regards the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

The recent announcements of Matthew Bryza are welcomed, but US Secretary of State Daniel Fried made such announcements in Yerevan which contradict to Matthew Bryza's words.

The party says it all proves that the United States do not have a consistent position in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

Discussing the world economic crisis, the session participants considers that this event did not cause serious damage to country's economy.

At the same time, the party considers that in order to avoid negative consequences, which may affect the economy, the powers and opposition need to create an anti-crisis group to cooperate on most perspective issues.
