Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev continues his visit to the southern region. APA’s south bureau reports that the head of state has today visited Lankaran region.

President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the inauguration of 320-pupil secondary school built by Heydar Aliyev's Foundation in Setmekeran village.

Following this, the Head of State attended the inauguration of Lankaran Airport and addressed the people. President and Mehriban Aliyeva visited Heydar Aliyev’s monument in Heydar Aliyev Park in the center of Lankaran, Heydar Aliyev Museum was also opened in the park. The President also participated in the opening ceremonies of Children Health Center, building of "Jenub" TV channel and "Gafgaz" Tourism Resort Center.

Ilham Aliyev also familiarized himself with the production in Dairy Plant established by Palmali Group of Companies in February this year.

He also attended the opening ceremony of Heydar Aliyev's museum.

On the same day, the opening of the airport after reconstruction will be held with participation of the head of the state in Lenkoran.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is visiting Lenkoran in the framework of his visit to country's south, report sources from the Executive powers of Lenkoran, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

In the framework of the visit, the head of the state will familiarize with the works on reconstruction of the region and visit several public and social facilities.

The President of Azerbaijan will also take part in the opening ceremony of the international airport in Lenkoran and meet with the regional public.

It should be noted that works on the construction of the airport started in 2006. For this purpose the budget of the country allocated about AZN 40 mln (about $50 mln by the current exchange rate). The airport will have an air station for 150 passengers, a water reservoir for 500 tons, a control check point, a cargo storage, a boiler-room, water cleaning facility and other facilities.

It is further planning to fly by the Baku-Lenkoran route and then it is planning to arrange internal flights, as well as flights to Moscow and other cities of Russia. For passenger transportations, AZAL purchases ATR-42-500 and ATR-72-500 airplanes, which will operate flights to Nakhchivan, Ganja, Zagatala and most CIS states.

In the framework of the visit to Masalli, Ilham Aliyev also met with public representatives of the region.

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, during the meeting, the head of the state stressed the need to develop the sphere of tourism in Masalli and "there is a large potential for it".

He informed the public about the measures, aimed at improving the life of people, and reforms, held in this sphere.

APA’s south bureau reports that the President and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva visited Heydar Aliyev’s monument in Heydar Aliyev Park and participated in the inauguration of Heydar Aliyev Museum.

Following this, the Head of the State participated in the inauguration of Masalli branch of Eye Diseases Institute named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva. The President also attended the opening ceremony of the overhauled “Define” lyceum and ended his visit to Masalli.

During the visit to Bilesuvar President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized with the Agro Milk Plant, functioning there, sources from the presidential administration of Azerbaijan told Interfax-Azerbaijan.

I.Aliyev also took part in the opening ceremony of the Bilesuvar lyceum and sport and Olympic complex.

After it the President headed for Masally.

The head of the state and his spouse Mehriban Aliyev put flowers to the memorial of national leader Heydar Aliyev. All necessary conditions have been created for the region residents and a complex in the memory of those who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our country was established.

Ilham Aliyev got familiar with Heydar Aliyev's museum, which holds photos on life and activity of H.Aliyev in the Soviet period and during his presidency in the independent Azerbaijan.
