"Azerbaijan will sustain great losses in case of resumption of Nagorno Karabakh conflict", considers leader of Armenian Democratic Party Aram Sargsyan.
"Azerbaijan realizes that it will sustain losses if the conflict resumes, regardless of whether it will gain success", said Sargsyan at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to the Armenian politician, Azerbaijan's bellicose statements are caused by its purchase of modern arms, modernization of the armed forces by the help of Turkey and other countries. According to Sargsyan, Azerbaijan merely tries to intimidate Armenia.

He also reminded about Azerbaijan's reaction to the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. In particular, according to him, in the first two days of the conflict Azerbaijan was praising Russia's actions.

"The statements like "Bravo, Georgia!" were voiced. But after Russia resisted Georgia's actions, moods in Azerbaijan changed. Thus, if Russia consolidates its positions in the region, Nagorno Karabakh conflict will not be settled by force", added Sargsyan.

According to the politician, moreover, Russia's actions demonstrated to Azerbaijan that oil and gas pipelines Baku-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa are vulnerable and are under threat.
