CEC officially approves Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for presidency

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has held its regular session on Saturday.
The participants considered issues of registration and approval of presidential candidate, registration of presidential candidate’s authorized representatives, changing some district elections commissions’ composition and amendments to the normative acts, APA reports.

CEC members have discussed approval of Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for presidency. It has been reported that signatures of 46750 people in support of Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy were submitted to CEC. These signatures were collected in the territory of 124 electoral districts. As a result of examinations, 46253 signatures have been considered authoritative and 497 non-authoritative.

Then CEC has reviewed the issue of Gulamhuseyn Alibeyli’s candidacy, who nominated himself. CEC positively reacted to this issue. The commission has also discussed other issues put on agenda.
