It took some two hours to Astelit company (trademark life), with Turkcell being its biggest shareholder, to correct the mistake on its website, where Nagorno Karabakh was fixed as an independent state.

But this is not enough.

Official Baku should also demand from Kievstar, Astelit (trademark-LIfe) and MTS Ukraine to break roaming contracts with Karabakh Telecom company.

Ukraine has repeatedly recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, yet despite it the biggest mobile companies of this country consider that Nagorno Karabakh is an independent state.

All the three companies, including Kievstar (23,872 subscribers), Astelit (9,000,000 subscribers, trade mark life) and MTS Ukraine (over 20,000,000 subscribers), offer roaming services for their subscribers, which is quite logical.

But these three companies indicate the territory of Nagorno Karabakh as a separate state on their websites and have concluded a roaming agreement with Karabakh Telecom company, which is functioning in the so called "Nagorno Karabakh Republic" by some unclear ways.

By concluding the roaming agreement with Karabakh Telecom the aforementioned Ukrainian companies de-facto recognized independence of Nagorno Karabakh, which can not be unnoticed in Azerbaijan.

"The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and our embassy to Ukraine have been and are dealing with this issue. The mobile companies state that they recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan but the services are provided not by them but by some Swiss company, We work not only with the companies, which concluded the roaming agreements, but also with companies, which provide these services directly, the so called subcontractors", said spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Khazar Ibrahim.

Notably, Turkcell is a holder of control stocks of Astelit company.
