Azerbaijan's Council for Press asks to soften Ganimat Zahid's punishment

Azerbaijan's Council for Press has appealed to the Baku Appellate Court, voicing concern regarding the decision, passed by the Yasamal district court on the editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid.

The due announcement was made by a source from the press service for the Council.

Thus, according to the appeal, Zahid is an editor-in-chief of the newspaper, which is famous in Azerbaijan, and he has four children to look after.

The appeal also fixes request to replace the imprisonment with a softer punishment.
