Azerbaijan's first lady declared most active deputy protecting rights of her voters

The Association of Parliamentary reporters declared the results of a poll among reporters, accredited in the Milli Medjlis, regarding the active deputies of 2007.

The president of Heydar Aliyev's foundation, deputy Mehriban Aliyeva was declared the most active deputy, who protects the rights of her voters, according to the results.

Moreover, the reporters mentioned deputies Jamila Gasanly, Ganira Pashayeva, Novruzali Aslanov, Elmira Akhundova, Arzu Samedbeyli, Iltizam Akperli, Javid Gurbanov, Sabir Rustamkhanly and Ikram Israfilov among the most active protectors of the voters' rights.

The nomination of the most active deputies, proecting Azerbaijan's interests in the international organizations included vice speaker of Parliament Bahar Muradova, Eldar Ibragimov, Rafael Fuseynov, Samed Seidov and Gultekin Gadjiyeva.

The most active deputies in the parliament were also declared by results of  the poll.

These included deputies Hadi Radjabli, Siyavush Novruzov, Panakh Guseyn, Aydyn Mirzazade, Azay Guliyev, Vahid Akhmedov, Gudrat Guseynguliyev, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, Zahid Orudj, Igbal Agazade.

The poll also defined the most passive deputies  of 2007, which are Madar Musayevm Magud Ibragimbekov, Medjid Kerimov, Mikhail Zabelin and Sabir Gadjiyev.

Moreover, 49% of reporters consider the activity of Milli Medjlis in 2007 to be satisfactory, 47% unsatisfactory, 4% found it difficult to answer the question.

As for the activity of the press service for the Parliament, 82% of reporters consider its work to be satisfactory, 14% unsatisfactory. Another 4% found it difficult to answer to the question.

The deputies, speaking after the awarding cerempmy, stressed the positiveness of such polls and noted that they stimulate more effective work of the deputies.

At the same time, they put forward several proposals. Thus, deputy Rafael Guseynov considers that the Parliament must establish awards for the most active parliamentary reporters.

Siyavush Novruzov considers that the nomination "The most active deputy, putting forward a law-making initiative, siting the Act on Amnesty, adopted by initiative of deputy Mehrivan Aliyeva in 2007 as an example.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on social policy Hadi Rajabli stressed the usefulness of frequent meetings of reporters with deputies and suggested to arrange events, where parties were able to exchange views freely, three or four times a year.
