Samad Seyidov: "Appointment of a rapporteur on Azerbaijan for political prisoners is not favorable for Council of Europe"

Seyidov stated that the term "political prisoners" is not for Azerbaijan.

“CE would not want to spoil constructive relations with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani Work Group on Human Rights is functioning normally. It was established by the initiative of the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan. Appointment of such a rapporteur can cause damage to the measures taken, which will further lead to deterioration of the relations between Azerbaijan and CE. Therefore, I do not believe that CE will give up constructive cooperation with Azerbaijan. Appointment of a rapporteur on Azerbaijan for political prisoners is not favorable for the Council of Europe", he said.
