PACE co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan offering to create permanent subcommittee for frozen conflicts

The co-rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel stressed the importance of the settlement of frozen conflicts for the Council of Europe.

He offered to create a permanent subcommittee for frozen conflicts under the organization he represents, or hold public hearings on the topic.

The PACE representative noted that the resolution of frozen conflicts is of great importance for the Council of Europe. He supported Azerbaijan's position on the importance of the discussion of such topics.

Herkel noted that it refers not only to Azerbaijan, but also to Georgia and Moldova and said that the issue is to be taken seriously. He considers that the resolution of the frozen conflicts should be undertaken without delay.
