UN Human Rights Council rapporteur to visit Azerbaijan

The aim of the special rapporteur's visit is to assess the current situation on ensuring freedom of opinion and expression reflected in general Declaration on Human Rights and International Pact on civil and political rights.

The rapporteur will also gather information about the people underwent pressure while enjoying freedom of opinion and expression, especially about specialists in the sphere of information, APA reports.

He will have meetings with state officials dealing with the issues of freedom of opinion and expression, international organizations and NGOs as well as media organizations and media authorities.

Ligabo will present a report on his visit to the UN Human Rights Council.
