Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) has organized a two day seminar, examining Nagorno Karabakh Conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia: internal and external conditions of the settlement.

The event bringing together Azeri and Armenian young researchers, diplomatic mission representatives and German experts has been supported by the DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service, APA reports.

The seminar focused on the domestic situation in the both countries, the role of this conflict in the domestic situation and the foreign states' geostrategic interest in the region. After hearing the reports by the both sides, Mannheim University Professor Egbert Jahn said the chance of the international recognition of the independence of Karabakh is too weak and this could be possible only through the consent of Azerbaijan.

MZES doctoral political science researcher Azer Babayev told that the persistence and determination of Azeri participants made the opposite party more aggressive.
