Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner's visit to Azerbaijan postponed

Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Thomas Hammerberg's visit to Azerbaijan has been postponed.

The postponement is related to the Commissioner's leaving for New York to discuss some issues on human rights, Hammerberg's office told the APA.

The visit was scheduled to April, but then it was not acceptable due to the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE). The visit is planned to the first half of October. Hammerberg apologized to Azerbaijani government for postponement of the visit.
