17 February 2007 [07:35] - TODAY.AZ
Ankara Businessmen Circle held a conference on the theme "Turkish-Armenian relations - past, present and genocide claims" in the capital of Turkey Ankara.

MP, Justice and Development Party member Nevzat Yalchintash said Armenian genocide did not happen, Armenians were deported from their places because they committed massacre in Eastern Anadolu.

He stressed that Hrant Dink's assassination is against Turkey.

"April 24 is approaching. Dink's assassination gave opportunity to Armenians and Turks' enemies to pretext," he said.

Answering the participants' questions Professor Yalchintash also took a stance on the slogans chanted in Dink's funeral “We all are Hrants, we all are Armenians." He said that no Turk or Muslim can say it.

Yalchintash said he is against the abolition of Article 301, envisaging criminal proceedings against insulting Turks. There may some amendments, but to abolish it, means "insult," APA reports.
