South Azerbaijani People accepted to UN UNPO membership

South Azerbaijani People was accepted to the membership of UN Unrepresented Nations and People Organization, South Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement (SANAM) press reports.

One of the main issues that was discussed in two-day conference of UNPO in European parliament, began on February 1, was the membership of South Azerbaijani People to this organization. In the first day of the meeting the participants were informed about the regulation of UNPO and new action plan was adopted.

Afterwards the Secretary General of UNPO Marino Bursdachin gave information about South Azerbaijani people that appealed for membership and said that SANAM spent 18 months for studying this sphere. After the discussions, membership problem was settled.

It was decided that national flag will represent South Azerbaijani people as national symbol.

As APA reports, South Azerbaijani Turks were represented with four-member delegation led by SANAM leader Mahmudali Chohraganli in the conference.
