Mammadyarov meets Korean Ambassador

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met with newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Lew Kwang-chul on Thursday.

The Minister said there were big opportunities for Korean businessmen to work in the country both on bilateral basis and in the framework of the large-scale economic projects being successfully implemented in the region.

On the international efforts to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, he said it is seriously interfering with establishment of sustainable peace and security in the region.

Elmar Mammadyarov stressed the importance of strengthening Azerbaijan-Korea mutual support within international organizations.

Ambassador Lew Kwang-chul said the two countries are bound up with a number of common objectives, adding that Korean businessmen are keen on investing in Azerbaijan's economy, particularly, in its non-oil sector.

He assured the Minister that during his diplomatic tenure will exert every effort towards enhancement of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea.

In conclusion, Ambassador Kwang-chul presented the copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. AzerTAg
