Press Council chairman meets with U.S. ambassador

Azerbaijan Press Council chairman Aflatun Amashov met with the U.S. ambassador Anne Derse.

The present state of freedom of speech and press was discussed at the meeting. The ambassador said the US is interested in the development of free press in Azerbaijan.

Aflatun Amashov said the problems concerning the freedom of speech and press emerge, because media has been politicized and mass media can not provide themselves economically, APA reports.
