The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) has once
again tried on its favorite mask, the image of deeply offended innocence. As
soon as the London PR specialists from Apollo Strategic Communications sent a
memo to the American media under the headline "Armenian Diaspora promotes
Russian interests on Capitol Hill," the ANCA office blew the check:
decades-old cries of "lies," "disinformation," and
"treacherous attack on the Armenian Diaspora" were used.
Well, who would have thought - what a surprise!
ANCA has one truly "touching" feature: they are
holier than the Pope. To listen to them, the committee has not a penny of
geopolitics, not a gram of lobbying, not a shadow of pressure. Only the concern
for justice is crystal clear, like a high mountain stream. And, of course,
about democracy.
It's just that sometimes this "democracy"
surprisingly, almost magically, begins to repeat the Kremlin's theses word for
word. But this, of course, is a pure accident. It's just that the stars have
come together. Who are we not to believe in these miraculous coincidences?
But the problem is that in politics, a simple "we
didn't do it, honestly, honestly" sounds about as convincing as a
schoolboy with cookie crumbs at the corners of his mouth, claiming that he
didn't touch it at all.
