Turkish Prime Minister expected May 4

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is due to arrive in Azerbaijan May 4.

The main goal of the visit is to attend a summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states in Baku, a source from the Turkish embassy told AssA-Irada.

The events as part of the summit will begin next Tuesday. The joint taskforce of ECO states' foreign ministry experts will hold discussions, followed by a two-day meeting of foreign ministers. The heads of state and governments will further meet to table issues of cooperation and future prospects.

Erdogan is also expected to meet with President Ilham Aliyev and other government officials.

ECO includes Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
