Attempts of national borders violations at the Caspian Sea bother Azerbaijan

06 April 2006 [23:54] - TODAY.AZ
Situation in the South Caucasus region cannot be called stable because of regional conflicts.

There are conflicts both in Georgia and Azerbaijan, though the success Azerbaijan reached in the peace stabilization is remarkable, the Deputy FM, Araz Azimov told Trend.

"The given position has received support from US. One of the most important factors in this matter is situation on the Caspian Sea. Thus, attempts of national borders violations at the Caspian Sea bother Azerbaijan" he said.

He added that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are normal. "I hope that we won't have any reasons for worry in future either," he said.

As for Azerbaijan's position towards the Iranian nuclear program, Azimov said that Azerbaijan follows the international position on that matter. "Every state has rights to develop atomic energy in peaceful means," he said.

However, he said that military training close the Azerbaijani border can not remain unnoticed.
