Plenary session of Supreme court held

On Thursday the next plenary session of the Azerbaijani Supreme Court was held, the press service of the Supreme Court announced.

As Trend reports, Ramiz Rzayev, the Chair of the Supreme Court, informed the participants of the session that establishment of new appeal and economic courts under the decree by President Ilham Aliyev showed the legal reforms entered new stage. Legal and organization measures are taken within establishment of new corps. The legal reforms serve to the activities of the legal, secular and democratic state within international legal norms.

Rzayev also informed the participants of the session on the measures related to reorganization of the bodies of the Supreme Court to provide it with legal, organization, material and technical, financial and economic support.

The plenary session made a decision on use of the precedents of the European Court on Human Rights and the regulations of the European Convention on defense of human rights and major freedoms during rendering of justice.

Besides, the plenary session adopted the regulations on Supreme Court machinery under the 19 January 2006 decree by the President.

The plenary session brought together Zakir Garalov, the Prosecutor General, and his deputy Eldar Nuriyev. Togrul Musayev, the Deputy Justice Minister, Chingiz Mustafayev, the representative of the President's Office.
