300 candidates gained less than 3% were taken to court

300 candidates gained less than 3% in recent parliamentary elections have been taken to court because of not having repaid the money they got from the state budget.

As APA reports according to the member of Central Election Commission (CEC) Ramiz Ibrahimov, under the rules of Election Code, candidates gained less than 35 had to voluntarily repay the money they had got from the state budget.

R.Ibrahimov said that candidates undertook engagements when getting the money: “Although over 2 months have passed from the elections, most of them have not repaid and so CEC filed appeal to relevant district courts’.

R.Ibrahimov said that some 100 candidates have undertaken engagements for repay of the money within one year. But some have repaid. Although member of CEC didn’t release information of the number of those repaid the money said that he will give information in a few days.
