President, Turkish ex-PM hail Baku forum role in expanding int'l co-op [UPDATED]

President Ilham Aliyev and former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim have considered the role of the VIII Global Baku Forum - "The World after COVID-19" in expanding international cooperation, Azertag reported on November 5.

The meeting described the forum as a very important international event in terms of discussing important issues.

Aliyev and Yildirim emphasized that the forum was organized at a high level. It was noted that despite the pandemic, the participation of many distinguished guests in the event shows interest in this forum and in Azerbaijan.

The sides expressed confidence that the forum would serve to expand international cooperation.

Organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center under the patronage of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the VIII Global Baku Forum under the motto "The world after COVID-19” kicked off on November 4.

The VIII Global Baku Forum brings together high-level representatives, including former heads of state and government, officials of international and non-governmental organizations from more than 40 countries, as well as other distinguished guests, to discuss issues of global importance.

About 300 guests are participating in the event, organized in a hybrid format, live and online.

The forum will last until November 6.
