Elmar Mammedyarov: “We conduct discussions on what kinds of troops to be placed in the territories to be liberated from occupation”

The journalists were told by Minister for Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammedyarov.

The Minister stressed the importance of Azerbaijanis returning to the territories to be liberated from occupation and said that security matters were discussed seriously in the discussions with Armenian side. E.Mammedyarov told that, Armenian community of the Nagorno Karabakh should live in Azerbaijan as citizens of Azerbaijan. Head of MFA stated that they got respond for their note of protest sent to Russia concerning dislocation of Russian military bases withdrawn from Georgia to Armenia and the talks on this mater are on: “We have stressed the importance of demilitarization process in the region. It means, there is no need for dislocating additional troop and military equipment in the region. Therefore, we demand that the military equipment withdrawn from Georgia not to be dislocated in Armenia. Russia-Georgia negotiations on this matter are on at the moment. We shall discuss this matter after the negotiations end”.

Head of MFA said of the talks on preparation to President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the USA to be continued.
