Azerbaijani delegation to PACE to sent letter of protest to Malcolm Bruce

APA was informed by member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Deputy Gultekin Hajiyeva. The deputy said of the list of 107 prisoners to be falsified. According to her, 13 of the 107 prisoners mentioned in the list presented by Malcolm Bruce have been released, 10 of them have been pardoned, 5 of them have never been imprisoned at all, 20 are those imprisoned for participation in the battles in Chechnya, the name of one person is included into the list for two times and the case of one is investigated.

G.Hajiyeva said of Mahsimov Rahib whose name is in the list to be in prison for participation in the exploding metro station “20 January”, Karimov Kamran to be the member of “Sadval” terrorist group, and Sirma Sonmez to be the member of PKK. However, the deputy stated that, it is possible to look into the matter of releasing some of the prisoners mentioned in the list.

According to her, the majority of NGOs in Azerbaijan dissatisfied with the list of 107 persons. G.Hahiyeva stated that Azerbaijani delegation to PACE has prepared letter of protest to M. Bruce and will display severe position concerning this.
