Ali Hasanov: Reports on extension of Azerbaijani President's office term is misinformation

There are no initiatives to extend the term of office of the Azerbaijani President up to seven years, Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov said, commenting on some media reports in this regard.

He said there is no necessity for that.

"It is completely false report. Azerbaijan's political system, presidential powers, parliament and judicial authority, as well as principles of their distribution are reflected in the Constitution. There are no such initiatives and they are not required. If the Azerbaijani citizens will raise this or another issue, then it can be resolved by referendum. But today there is no such an initiative, and it is misinformation," Hasanov said.
