President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today ended his official visit to Croatia.

A guard of honour was lined up for the President of Azerbaijan at the Zagreb Airport.
The President of Azerbaijan was seen off by top-ranking state and government officials of Croatia.

President of Azerbaijan has left for Podgorica, Montenegro.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Ivo Josipovic of Croatia have met businessmen in Zagreb.

The moderator of the meeting highlighted Azerbaijan`s economic achievements, and stressed the existence of favorable investment environment in the country.

Ivo Josipovic said the visit by President Ilham Aliyev would contribute to developing the bilateral economic relations. He said Azerbaijan had been developing rapidly in the last years, adding the country was of great importance to Croatia. Ivo Josipovic said there were new areas of cooperation in mutual investment making between the two countries. The Croatian leader emphasized the importance of the meeting in terms of building relations between the two countries` businessmen.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence his visit would be a success. He said the issue of expansion of the economic relations had been high on the agenda of the talks the two countries had during his visit. The Head of State said the Azerbaijan-Croatia relations were developing on all fronts, pointing out there was good potential for deepening the economic cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the necessity of building and developing mutually beneficial relations between Azerbaijani and Croatian business people. He said the two countries could build effective cooperation in a number of fields, particularly transport and tourism.

The Head of State provided an insight into economic processes and business environment in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev said favorable climate had been ensured in the country for foreign businessmen and foreign investment. He hailed the activities of Croatian companies in Azerbaijan as successful. The President expressed hope businessmen would play a bigger role in developing the Azerbaijan-Croatia economic relations.

The Croatian businessmen informed the Azerbaijani leader of the activities of their companies.
They said they were determined to build cooperation with their Azerbaijani counterparts. The Head of State responded to questions from the businessmen concerning different areas of Azerbaijan`s economy.

The President called on the Croatian businessmen to build closer relations with Azerbaijan.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met Prime Minister of Croatia Zoran Milanovic as part of his visit to Zagreb.

They praised the economic relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia.

They stressed the importance of the visit by the Azerbaijani President, saying it opens new opportunities for further cooperation.

The Azerbaijani President and the Croatian Premier noted there were ample prospects for energy cooperation. They stressed the importance of joint projects in a variety of fields, including non-energy sector, transport, tourism and mutual investment.

They said the visit by the Azerbaijani President was a good opportunity to hold discussions on these projects and achieve concrete results.

The President of Azerbaijan and the Croatian Premier expressed confidence the economic cooperation between the two countries would further develop.

Following the meeting President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic had a working dinner.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko as part of his official visit to Zagreb.
During the meeting, they praised development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia in a variety of fields and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits.

Josip Leko said President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Croatia would contribute to elevating cooperation too a higher level.

They noted interparliamentary cooperation and activity of friendship groups gave impetus to strengthening the bilateral ties.

President Ilham Aliyev and Parliament Speaker Josip Leko said there was a good potential for development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia.

They also expressed confidence that the Azerbaijan-Croatia cooperation would continue to expand.

Following their private talk, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Ivo Josipovic of Croatia have been joined by their countries` delegations for an expanded meeting.

President Josipovic said relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia were developing successfully. He noted good potential exists for development of bilateral economic cooperation.

Mr. Josipovic underlined the necessity of expanding the relationship in energy, cultural, tourism and other fields. The Croatian leader pointed out his country supports settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of norms of international law. Mr. Josipovic also recalled his visit to Azerbaijan which he said has ancient history and rich culture.

President Ilham Aliyev called political and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Croatia active. He underscored the importance of expanding economic ties and defining new areas of cooperation.
The Azerbaijani President noted his country plays important role in energy security of Europe. The Head of State stressed the importance of cooperation with Croatia in energy field.

President Ilham Aliyev also spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The President added Armenia continues its aggressive policy against Azerbaijan and demonstrates non-constructive position not honoring norms of international law.
During the meeting the sides also discussed questions related to mutual investment.

The sides also discussed prospects for relations in transport, cultural and tourism areas, development of cooperation, and implementation of new projects.

They also expressed confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to President Ilham Aliyev.

The presidents inspected a ceremonial guard of honor.

Croatian state and government officials were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev, while members of the Azerbaijani delegation to President Ivo Josipovic.
