The perpetrators of the incident in Ismayilli region and the individuals willing to use it against Azerbaijan's statehood will be punished, Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov told media today.
Hasanov accused some political forces of stirring up the incidents and transferring them into uncontrollable direction, using people for their own interests and organizing illegal actions against local executive and law enforcement bodies.
Hasanov urged Ismayilli residents not to succumb to provocations, and show determination against provocateurs.
"The perpetrators of this incident and those who seek to use it for personal interests will be punished," he said.
"Let no one think that by using this event, they will be able to prevent the authorities to perform their legitimate functions, to ensure law and order and security of citizens," Hasanov noted.
"I believe that Ismayilli population, being always true to the statehood and having respect for the law, will not allow the provocative forces to realize their subjective ambitions, using this as a tool," he added.
