10 November 2012 [09:53] - TODAY.AZ
A delegation of Azerbaijan`s Parliament has paid a visit to Mexico in a bid to develop the cooperation between the two countries` legislative authorities. The delegation included head of the New Azerbaijan Party`s foreign relations department Asaf Hajiyev chairman of Democratic Reforms Party Asim Mollazade, and head of Mexican-Azerbaijani friendship group Ulvi Guliyev.

The delegation had a number of bilateral meetings, including with Chairman of Foreign Relations Committee of the Mexican Senate Teofilo Torres Corzo, first vice-president of Mexico`s Chamber of Deputies Francisco Arroyo Vieyra, Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Aranda, as well as heads of leading political parties and members of the Congress.

The meetings focused on prospects for expanding the Azerbaijan-Mexico relations in political, economic, cultural and educational fields. The Azerbaijani MPs informed the Mexican side on Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan, saying this was a source of threat and danger to regional states. The delegation said Armenia`s non-constructive and aggressive position hampered the settlement of the conflict.

Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Aranda said Mexico supported Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, and said her country backed peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
