FM: 'Aggressive statements by Yerevan is blow to peace talks’

16 October 2012 [12:20] - TODAY.AZ
'This is not the first time when Yerevan voices such threats,' Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev  said while commenting on statements made  by representatives of the Armenian General Staff on that it can  strike the pipeline coming from Azerbaijan, in the case of "necessity".

"Armenia is not embarrassed by the fact that the world community has recognized her as aggressor and it continues to threaten Azerbaijan and major infrastructure facilities in our country. Threats come at a time when Azerbaijan, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries and other states are looking for a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Naturally, Yerevan’s such statements is severe blow to the peace talks,” he noted.

"Armenia allows herself such statement largely because they are not received an appropriate response from the international organizations. Armenia earlier threatened to attack on oil and gas pipelines from Azerbaijan. They need to understand that not only Azerbaijan is interested in the operation of such facilities . I believe that relevant international organizations should pay attention to the bellicose rhetoric of Armenia,” Abdullayev stated.
