President Ilham Aliyev hosted official dinner in honor Uzbek President - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today hosted an official dinner in honor of visiting Uzbek President Islam Karimov.

The Heads of State made speeches at the event.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan have today visited the National Flag Square in Baku.

Then, the heads of state visited the Heydar Aliyev Center.

President Ilham Aliyev informed his Uzbek counterpart about the Center.

The President said that the Heydar Aliyev Center opened on May 10, 2012 – on the birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The facility occupies a total area of 16 hectares.

The complex is designed by well-known architect Zaha Hadid.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov was told that all conditions had been created here for holding official receptions, international conferences, meetings and cultural events.

The talks between presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan in presence of delegations were followed by a ceremony of signing the Azerbaijan- Uzbekistan documents.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Islam Karimov signed the “Joint Statement of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov”,

Foreign ministers Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan and Abdulaziz Kamilov of Uzbekistan signed the “Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2013-2015s.”

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov signed the “Plan of events on implementation of the Cooperation Program between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2012-2015.

The two presidents praised the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, saying they were developing in various spheres.

They stressed the importance of the Uzbek leader`s visit in terms of expansion of the two countries` relations.

The Heads of State expressed confidence the bilateral relations would further strengthen.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has today been given an official welcome to Azerbaijan.

A guard of honor was lined up for the Uzbek leader at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Islam karimov. The presidents inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honor.

Azerbaijani state and government officials were introduced to Islam Karimov, while members of the Uzbek delegation to President Ilham Aliyev.
