MP Gular Ahmadova deprived of deputy mandate

03 October 2012 [20:14] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) has complied with Azerbaijani MP Gular Ahmadova's appeal on voluntarily rejection of her deputy mandate today.

The video with former Azerbaijani University rector Elshad Abdullayev and MP Gular Ahmadova was spread by online media outlets on September 25.

Abdullayev gave a large sum of money to Gular Ahmadova to become elected as a member of parliament. The Baku City Prosecutor's Office has filed a criminal case under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code in this regard. An investigation is underway.

Taking into account that the issue of depriving her deputy mandate is considered by the Central Election Commission, Gular Ahmadova appealed about voluntary rejection of her deputy mandate to the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission.
