Azerbaijani armed forces officer Ramil Safarov, who was brought back to the country today, has visited the Alley of Honors to lay flowers at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.
Safarov also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
The armed forces officer visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.
He also laid flowers at the Eternal Flame monument. Ramil Safarov also visited a monument to Turkish soldiers.
Safarov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Hungarian capital of Budapest, was pardoned by an Executive Order of President Ilham Aliyev earlier today.
