Following the meeting in presence of delegations, a signing ceremony of Azerbaijan-Tajikistan documents was held with participation of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a joint statement of the President of Republic of Azerbaijan and the President of Tajikistan Republic.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Education Misir Mardanov and Education Minister of Tajikistan Nuriddin Saidov signed an agreement on cooperation between the Baku State University and the Tajik National University.

Azerbaijan’s National Olympic Committee’s vice-president Chingiz Huseynzade and Head of the State Committee for Youth, Sport and Tourism of Tajikistan Maliksho Nematov signed an agreement on cooperation between the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan National Olympic Committee.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abbasov and Tajik Agriculture Minister Kosim Kosimov signed an agreement on cooperation between the Ministries of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan Republic.

FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and FM of Tajikistan Hamrokhon Zarifi signed the protocol on cooperation between the foreign ministries of both countries.

Chairman of Copyrights Agency of Azerbaijan Kamran Imanov and the minister of culture of Tajikistan Asrori Mirzoshohruh signed an agreement on cooperation in protection of copyrights.
Azerbaijan’s minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov and Head of the State Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism of Tajikistan Maliksho Nematov signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of work with youth and sports.

The sides have also signed two other agreements on recognition of education documents and on economic cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan met in presence of delegations.

The heads of state addressed the participants of meeting. Welcoming his Tajik counterpart, the Azerbaijani President in particular said:

“Dear Emomali Sharifovich!

Esteemed guests! Allow me once again to welcome You. I am grateful that You have accepted our invitation to visit our country. We attach great importance to Your visit and as a whole, the relations between our states which have good history and fine prospect. Today, we have already exchanged views on important questions of mutual relations in political and economic spheres, and have planned ways of solution of specific goals. Today, concrete commissions of relevant bodies will be given certain instructions related to Your visit.

I hope, the visit will be success. The documents which we will sign also create good, new base for development of mutual relations. Between our peoples, historically there are very close, fraternal relations. They are supported with mutual interests of our states. We actively cooperate also in the international affairs, on the international structures. We support each other. And, of course, we consider Your country as friendly and brotherly. We hope for continuation of active cooperation in all directions. Your visit has therefore special importance for our relations. I am convinced that it will give a new impetus to development of our relations, and we will actively cooperate in the future as two friendly, brotherly states for the blessing of our countries and peoples.

In this context, with special feeling of warmth we remember Your fruitful visit to Tajikistan that has given a strong impulse to development of mutually beneficial cooperation of two countries in all spheres.

Tajikistan highly estimates friendly, substantial and constructive interstate relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan and gives particular attention to their further development.

Today, the Tajik-Azerbaijani relations are many-sided and cover key directions of cooperation. Our countries, being members of the United Nations, OSCE, the CIS, ?IC and some other international and regional associations, have the same interests that should be embodied in realization of concrete joint projects and programs in areas, where our possibilities mutually fill each other. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon have today had a one-on-one meeting as the Tajik leader started an official visit to Azerbaijan.

The two presidents praised the relations between their countries, saying they were developing on different fronts. They pointed out there was good potential for expanding the bilateral ties.

They stressed the importance of the Tajik leader`s visit in terms of strengthening the two countries` cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev and Emomali Rahmon exchanged views over bilateral, regional and international issues.

An official welcoming ceremony of President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held on July 12.

The guard of honor was arranged in honor of the distinguished guest in a square decorated with state flags of the two states.

The chief of the guard of honor delivered a report to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The chief of the guard of honor delivered a report to the President of Tajikistan. After the national anthems of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan were performed, the heads of state reviewed the guard of honor.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan saluted Azerbaijani soldiers. Representatives of the state and government of Azerbaijan were introduced to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, while members of the Tajik delegation were introduced to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The guard of honor marched in front of the heads of state under the accompaniment of a military march.
