President Ilham Aliyev attends opening of 19th Int’l Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition - UPDATE - PHOTOS

The 19th Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference, the Caspian Region’s largest oil and gas show, opened June 5 at the Baku Expo Centre.

The event was attended by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Some 304 companies from 35 countries are participating in this years’ show, including national groups from the UK, Germany, China and Russia. 30% of this year’s exhibitors are first time participants, including a host of Vietnamese companies. 60% of the exhibition space is taken up by international exhibitors.

Exhibitors showcase the latest developments in oil and gas equipment and innovative extraction, transportation technology and storage systems. Current and future local and international oil and gas projects are also presented.

Companies from Azerbaijan took up 40% of floor space at the exhibition.
The event is organised by ITE Group plc and Iteca Caspian, with support from ITE’s international partners - ITE Moscow, EUF (Turkey), GiMA (Germany), ITE China and ITE Gulf (Dubai).

The opening of the exhibition began with a welcome from Sir Andrew Wood, Senior Advisor to ITE Group Plc, who welcomed the President and guests on behalf of the organisers. Sir Andrew Wood thanked the President of Azerbaijan for his support of Caspian Oil & Gas, the largest event in the Caspian region.

President Ilham Aliyev then addressed the opening ceremony.

Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baku Adam Sterling read out a letter of welcome from the U.S. President Barak Obama, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Bateman and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

After the official opening, President Ilham Aliyev toured the exhibition. The Head of Azerbaijan State wished success to the participants of the event.

The Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference is held annually under the patronage of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, HE Ilham Aliyev, who traditionally opens the event. Caspian Oil & Gas also receives the official support of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan and SOCAR. Caspian Oil & Gas annually brings together market leaders of the oil and gas industry.
