Azerbaijan assumes PABSEC presidency

Azerbaijan took over the presidency of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly from Armenia at the 39 plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Yerevan.

Azerbaijan was represented by delegation led by BSEC Vice-President Asef Hajiyev, MPs Musa Guliyev and Jale Aliyeva.

May 23 meeting discussed and unanimously adopted a statement on the 20th anniversary of the Organization. The statement in particular, confirmed that the main objective of cooperation within the BSEC is development of good neighborliness, friendship and partnership between the countries of the region, mutually beneficial cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

The Parliamentary Assembly of BSEC welcomes effective cooperation in the field of transport, trade, energy, communications, tourism, environment, health, agriculture, and fight against organized crime. The statement expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation for peaceful and stable development of the region.

The 40th meeting of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Baku on November 21-22.
