Eric Rubin:'US has decisive position to contribute to Karabakh peace talks'

Azerbaijan has an important role to play on the international scene, said the US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin.

Rubin underlined that the US uses Azerbaijan`s territory as a cargo transit route to Afghanistan. The US official stated that the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the priorities for the US, and the US leadership supports peaceful and fair solution of this problem.

 “The US has a decisive position to contribute to the peace talks between the sides and activity of OSCE Minsk group co-chairs. We believe that the peace is possible and important. We believe that the Azerbaijani state wants it. We can change the current unacceptable status-quo, and move forward toward a more secure future in the region.”
