Bill Cassidy: 'Our goal is to expand friendship between the United States and Azerbaijan'

“Our goal is to expand friendship between the United States and Azerbaijan”, Bill Cassidy, the U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 6th congressional district, member of the Republican Party, stated at the conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of the US-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations held in Washington.

This friendship should be expanded through cultural exchange and rise of trade, Mr. Cassidy, member of the Turkish working group stressed. Addressing the Azerbaijani delegation at the conference, Cassidy said: “You make effort to all these, for what I am grateful to you. What we are deeply concerned with are the questions of international security, in particular, energy security. Azerbaijan, of course, plays important role in energy security”.

Bill Cassidy reminded Kosovo and Afghanistan where the two countries successfully cooperated.
“I hope the conference will be another opportunity to understand each other closely. I am thankful to you for being here. I welcome you in the United States, and wish to see you in the State of Louisiana”, Cassidy emphasized.
