Azerbaijani President receives Indian Minister - UPDATE - PHOTO

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today Jyotiraditya Scindia, Indian Minister of state for Commerce and Industry, co-chair of Azerbaijan-India Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technologic Cooperation.

Jyotiraditya Scindia extended greetings of Indian President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the Azerbaijani leader. The minister noted Azerbaijan-India cooperation covers various spheres. He added relations between the two countries in economic and cultural areas had centuries-old history.

President Ilham Aliyev said the session of the Azerbaijan-India Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technologic Cooperation was a good chance to discuss issues regarding expansion of economic ties between the two countries. The Head of State said good opportunities exist for development of Azerbaijan-India cooperation in ICT, healthcare, pharmacology, energy, tourism and other fields.

President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of establishing Azerbaijan-India partner relations based on centuries-long history of ties between “our peoples.”

The Azerbaijani leader also asked the Indian minister to convey his greetings to Indian President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
