
Azerbaijan`s Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe (CoE) organized a commemorative event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide in Strasbourg. The event was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora, Turkey`s and GUAM member states` delegation to CoE, Consulate General of Turkey in Strasbourg, public figures and others. The event participants were informed on crimes committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, “Justice for Khojaly!” Campaign, and they were presented materials on Khojaly genocide, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Azerbaijan`s permanent representative to CoE Arif Mammadov spoke of articles on Khojaly events in “Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace” newspaper and underlined their importance in terms of raising awareness of the European community about the Khojaly massacre.

The Khojaly genocide victims also commemorated in Kars, Izmir, Camlidere, Sivas, Nevsehir cities of Turkey. Azerbaijan`s Consulate-General in Kars hosted an event on the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide. Consul General Ayxan Suleymanov briefed the participants on Khojaly events, slaughters committed by Armenian against Azerbaijanis. The attendees watched a documentary on Khojaly massacre.
Middle East Technical University in Ankara hosted a conference dedicated to the Khojaly genocide. Member of Azerbaijan`s parliament Ganira Pashayeva, professors Hamid Bagci and Hamidulla Mehrabov addressed the event and spoke of crimes committed by Armenians in Azerbaijan`s and Anatolian lands.
Turkey-Azerbaijan Circle organized another conference on Khojaly events. Social Community of Graduates of Turkish Universities (TUMIB) organized conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide in Istanbul. A film on February 26 events was displayed at the event.

Pakistan`s “Daily Ittehad” newspaper published an article on Khojaly events. The article features wide information on Armenia`s territorial claims and ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The author also touches on Pakistan`s position in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
A book on Khojaly genocide by Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency`s (AzerTAc) special correspondent was published in Tehran, Iran. The book was published as part of the joint project of Azerbaijan state oil firm (SOCAR) and AzerTAc with “Let`s have Azerbaijani realities recognized” motto. The Azerbaijani language edition of the book was published in 2006. It was translated into Persian language by Murtuza Bagiri. The preface was written by the Chairman and Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov, and editor of the book is AzerTAc`s General Director Aslan Aslanov.

Azerbaijani students studying in Prague have set up a tent in the center of the city in connection with the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide with support of Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Czech Republic. A film and a photo gallery on Khojaly events were displayed at the event. Ambassador Tahir Tagizade briefed the attendees on the Khojaly massacre.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora led by the Azerbaijani-American community in California, Azerbaijani-American Council (AAC) and Northern Azerbaijan Cultural Society of America (NACSA) held an action of protest in front of the Senate. They protested against draft resolution ACR 96 which features so-called “California Day of Remembrance for the Massacres of Armenians in Sumgait, Kirovabad, and Baku”. The protesters briefed the community of California on Khojaly events.

A film on slaughters committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in different years in Baku, Shamakhi, Guba and others regions as well as Khojaly genocide will be shot according to the press secretary of Israel-Azerbaijan International Association Arye Gut. Gut pointed out importance to raise awareness of world community on Khojaly events, and praised the book “Khojaly. Genocide of the 20th century” – the joint project of the socio-political department of the Presidential Administration and AzerTAc.

Memory of Khojaly genocide victims has also been commemorated in Singapore. Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Indonesia and Singapore Tamerlan Garayev briefed the participants on Khojaly genocide.

Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Poland organized an event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide and 22nd anniversary of the Black January events. The event was attended by the representatives of Poland`s Foreign Affairs, Transport, Agriculture Ministries, Polish Entrepreneurs Confederation, Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, diplomatic corps accredited in Warsaw, Azerbaijani Diaspora. The participants viewed a photo gallery reflecting the Khojaly events. Booklets and various materials on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were presented to the attendees.
Speaking at the event Ambassador Hasan Hasanov spoke of history of Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as crimes committed by Armenian against Azerbaijanis.

An exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide opened in Berlin. The exhibition was initiated by the President of Central Council of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Germany Tengiz Sade baron zu Romkerhall and supported by Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Germany. The winners of the exhibition were presented certificates and money prize. The attendees described the Khojaly genocide as a crime against humanity.
