
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Sweden, Norway and Finland Rafael Ibrahimov delivered a lecture on “Azerbaijan today” in Finland`s Turku University. Opening the event, rector of the University Keijo Virtanen hailed the fact that it is going to be Azerbaijani Ambassador`s first lecture at the university.
Ambassador Ibrahimov touched on the history, rich cultural heritage, and rapid development of Azerbaijan in his report. He briefed the attendees on Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan, Khojaly genocide as well as negotiation process on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The Azerbaijani diplomat underlined national leader Heydar Aliyev`s role in the development of the country. He also spoke of achievements gained in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Following the lecture, Ibrahimov handed over a collection of Azerbaijan-related books in English language to the library of the university.
