Khojaly victims’ memory to be honored in over 100 countries under Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s support

This year the 20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy is marked in over 100 world countries with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The events dedicated to the genocide will be marked through the embassies, consulates, diplomatic missions and diaspora organizations on the basis of campaign materials, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said.

The files prepared by the fund became effective ideological tool in informing the world about Azerbaijan's realities. They were distributed in many foreign countries.

The events dedicated to the commemoration ceremony have been held in Washington, New York, Warsaw, London, Beijing, the Hague, Dubai, Kiev, Moscow, Berlin, Strasbourg, Brussels, Bucharest, Geneva, Ankara, Istanbul, Prague, Paris , Rome, Tbilisi, Sarajevo and other cities since 2005.

The film "Khojaly genocide" prepared by the Foundation will be demonstrated at the commemoration ceremonies. The photographs, reflecting atrocities committed by Armenians in Khojaly and the materials on Khojaly tragedy published in various years in prestigious publications will be also demonstrated.

It is planned to distribute the collection prepared by the Foundation "Karabakh realities" and the book "War against Azerbaijan: a focus on cultural heritage." The collection of booklets "Karabakh realities" gives the opportunity to get the detailed information about the history of Karabakh, the beginning of the conflict, the Khojaly genocide, the results of Armenian aggression, the activities of Armenian terrorist organizations against Azerbaijan.

The booklet "Karabakh realities" published since 2005 in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, German, French and other languages will be presented to the international community this year.
The leaflets have photographs.

All leaflets have Azerbaijan's map. Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia were also shown there. The information on damage as a result of the conflict, the Armenian terrorism, the victims of the occupation, etc. was placed there.

The book "War against Azerbaijan: a focus on cultural heritage" published in the English language provides the readers with the detailed information about vandalism committed by Armenians against the national historic sites.

The complex to the victims of genocide will be opened by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the eve of 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide in one of European cities. The representatives from various agencies, diplomatic missions, urban residents, as well as media representatives are invited for these events.

The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. Some 613 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1,000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1,275 peaceful residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
